Viva la Japan!

So as I mentioned yesterday, today we went to a mall called VivaCity. It is a giant mall with four floors and an arcade with betting machine inside. We biked from the campus to the train station and then took the train one stop over. We were separated into groups and were given a tour by local Japanese college students. Our guide insisted we call him Tom and was very nice. He spoke very little English, so it made us listen and practice more. There was also a grocery store in the mall as well as many snack shops. At the end of the tour, we bought a pastry with ice-cream inside; it did not have milk in it. Naturally, we ate while we waited for everyone to gather. (I had a green tea flavored one). After we got back there was a welcome party for us,and we played human bingo in order to get to know not only everyone in the group but also Japanese students. I met and talked with three Japanese girls, Nagisa Kojima, Yuri Yamazaki and Ayano Yoshikawa.

Nagisa-san and I connected over Japanses dramas, music and over the fact that both our names relate to the edge or shore line of the sea.

Yuri-san and Ayano-san joined Sasha, Roz, Andrew, Ryan and me for dinner at CoCo's and helped us with our homework for tomorrow.

We have a Vocab Quiz tomorrow so this entry is shorter than I would like it to be, but one thing I can mention is that I am making a lot of new friends and have been having a blast here.
